the back catalogue
a selection of early work
My artistic endeavours have spanned many years and woven in and out of a variety of location changes and education/career moves. Ideas, inspiration, and techniques developed throughout this time, but the central threads have remained consistent and the stylistic stamp is unmistakable.
Some of these pieces are early forays into areas that became central themes in more recent series, whereas others explore themes that have not yet been developed further. However, the thinking underlying them is similar and the more recent work rests firmly on these foundations.
Back catalogue pieces are offered at a special studio rate. Works that are available for purchase have pricing information listed in the description. Prices are in NZD and exclude shipping. There’s also an additional 10% discount for Studio insiders. Please contact me if you are interested.
Bone mother, oil on canvas (60 × 120 cm)
Sea nymph
This work emerged from a long walk on a lonely South Island beach one wild, wet morning. The wind and waves had left great drifts of glistening green and brown seaweed curling over rocks and sand. I could feel the presence of shadowy figures and half hear joyous laughter over the sound of the sea. I fell to speculating on who had left the sea weed, and what they were trying to say. This work is available and will be on show at the Manawatu Art Showcase on 9th & 10th May 2026 .
Sea nymph, 2017, oil on canvas (45 × 90 cm) $1550
Wild hunt
There is something fascinating about the old stories of the wild hunt, a procession of ghostly (or demonic, depending on the version) creatures that roam the night in search of souls (or wrong doers)… Best you’re not caught out alone on a night the hunt is riding.
This piece was completed in 2011 and intended to convey the chaos and frenetic troupe mid-hunt.
Although retained in my own collection, prints are available on request.
Wild hunt, 2011, oil on canvas (45 × 60 cm)
Melusine
The legend of Melusine is fascinating. It has so many of the elements of a great fairy/folk tale, and the patriarchal and religious overlays are evident. Melusine is an ongoing source of inspiration for me, especially the aspect of transformation and reclaimed power. She has inspired several of my more recent works, as well as aspects of the collection I am currently working on.
These works are available and will be on show at the Manawatu Art Showcase on 9th & 10th May 2026
Melusine, 2016, oil on canvas (30 × 60 cm) $690
Melusine dreams, 2016, oil on canvas (45× 90 cm) $1550
space horses
I love playing with lines and teasing out the effect of negative and positive space. From this experimentation grew a series of relatively small-scale mixed media works on paper that I called “space horses” as they looked a little alien and off-world. All works are completed in pen & ink and acrylic, and are on 180 gsm w/c paper. They are currently unframed. The prices below are exclusive of shipping as this will need to be calculated separately.
